Spring Reflections: Growth, Change, & New Beginnings

Spring Reflections: Growth, Change, & New Beginnings

Spring is absolutely magical. Every season has its own charm, but there really is something special about spring.

Yesterday, I spent the whole day outside—planting, digging, weeding, breathing.
I lost track of time and found a little bit of myself.
Spring doesn’t fix everything, but it reminded me: I’m growing too.

This time last year was a world of difference. Stressed, miserably pregnant, so unsure of what the upcoming months would hold.

We were planning our move, and any time we talked about where different pieces of furniture would be placed in the new home....I had no idea. I just did not have the bandwidth to imagine what that would look like. We didn’t know if baby would be born before or after we moved, so we had to be prepared for either option.

I was working full time, mom-ing full time, wife-ing full time, and trying to figure out how to fit it all in. And honestly: probably not doing a great job at much of it either.

Being unexpectedly let go in a budget cut at the end of January definitely came as a shock. But now, 3 months later…I am starting to see it differently. As an opportunity instead of a setback. Now, I get to soak in all these extra moments with my kids, take care of things at home that were not getting done before, build this amazing business that I've been dreaming about for a very long time, and :gasp: take care of myself a little bit too.

A moment that really stuck with me yesterday: my little guy playing in the shade in his sensory setup—oats, scoops, trucks—content as could be while I spread mulch and planted my seedlings in the soil. I glanced over and saw his focus just as intense as mine, and something in me realized: we were both right where we needed to be.

So, now I want to challenge you. How can you use this season of hope and anticipation to grow something (literally or figuratively) for yourself? Use the space in the comments below to share, reach out to me privately, or, just keep it private. Whatever you choose, I hope it brings you joy.
